The University of Liverpool Launches the World’s First International Online Masters Programmes in China

The University of Liverpool together with its global eLearning partner K.I.T. launched today the world’s first international online Masters programmes in China. Busy Chinese professionals can now study for prestigious Masters degrees designed to enhance their careers, conveniently online and without having to leave home.

The University is the first western institute to offer online Masters programmes in the Chinese market. Introducing the programmes provides Chinese professionals with a bridge to the global economy, while at the same time gives corporate Europe and professionals from around the world a substantial insight into a country that is experiencing rapid development. K.I.T.’s research indicates that up to 9 million Chinese professionals undertake advanced studies each year.

The programmes, MBA and MSc in Information Technology, are taught entirely online in virtual classrooms. They cover a broad range of issues, providing practical skills for the workplace, and encouraging professional development. Students from the UK, Netherlands, the U.S. and across the world are already enrolled in the programmes networking, exchanging knowledge and professional experiences.

Demand for high-calibre executives with an international perspective has surged in China as its role in the global business community has increased. This has led to tremendous demand for professionals with high-level managerial qualifications. By bringing its online degree programmes to China, the University of Liverpool hopes to help both individuals and corporations meet the needs of China’s booming economy.

Professor Philip Love, Vice Chancellor of The University of Liverpool, commented: “China is now one of the world’s most important economies. In order to maintain its momentum, it needs a large high-quality pool of talent. To this end, the University of Liverpool’s Masters programmes can make a significant contribution.”

Madam Lin Wenyi, Deputy Mayor of Beijing and in charge of Education, officiated at the programme’s launch ceremony, held today in Beijing. She said “The University of Liverpool has an internationally acclaimed heritage of academic excellence. I am pleased that Chinese professionals now have the opportunity to study at one of Europe’s leading academic institutes.”

Shai Reshef, Chairman of K.I.T., the eLearning partner of the University said: “The global market has become a knowledge-based economy. There is a vital need for professionals to enhance their capabilities and update their skills to remain competitive without interrupting their careers. These online programmes are the solution of choice for career high flyers worldwide.”

He continued, “The unique delivery through the internet revolutionises the accessibility across huge geographical and cultural distances. Business and IT executives join international virtual classrooms, where global networking, exchange of practical know-how and high level academic interaction occur every day.”

The successful programmes have satisfied students from 45 countries, and are praised by technology and corporate experts from around the world. In the last year alone, the number of students has doubled from one quarter to another.

This is a smart blog. I mean it. You have so much knowledge about this issue, and so much passion. You also know how to make people rally behind it, obviously from the responses. Youve got a design here thats not too flashy, but makes a statement as big as what youre saying. Great job, indeed.
