Former Pagan Chaplain Writing Series of Books on Practical Magick

(PRWEB) October 22, 2006

Ian Edwards, the former Pagan Chaplain at Kingston Prison, Portsmouth,England, is shortly to finish the first in a series of practical magick books.

“It all came about after I lost my position at the prison due to the Pagan Federation withdrawing their support for my ministry after all the media coverage about it last year” He said “True, I had been a bit of a twit in forgetting to tell the prison authorities – and them – about the interview, but my impression was that the interview was about Samhain (Halloween) rather than my work as a chaplain in the prison. The prison authorities were very understanding about it being an honest mistake but could not allow me to continue because of the Federations’ withdrawal of support. I had previously mentioned my role as a Prison Chaplain to the media with no adverse comment.

Because of my life experiences and chaplaincy role I had amassed a huge amount of information on many aspects of Magick and Pagan Spirituality. In fact I wrote the first non-denominational leaflet for use by the Pagan Chaplaincy throughout the British Prison System which explained in general terms what Paganism means. Considering my knowledge and experiences I realised I had collected enough material to write in-depth useful books on the practical application of Magick and Pagan philosophy to everyday life to help people get what they want.

The first book is on Wealth. Rather than being just a spell book it also contains practical approaches, personal experiences, and underlying principles of wealth building. I have written it in the multi-layered style of the Oriental strategy books such as the “Book of Five Rings”, which are popular in the financial world because although the techniques seem simple the more you read them, the deeper meanings become apparent.

The personal experiences I go into, such as the Brujo (Mexican Wizard) who appeared to be just a corner shoe-shine man, but owned several houses and a large stock portfolio are true, and are told in the style of the therapeutic metaphors that I use in hypnotherapy. These help people use both sides of the brain and tap their own innate skills and abilities realising their own path to wealth. This book is a guide book to doing this – rather than just another collection of spells with no background into how the author used them, the results when he did, or how he learned of them in the first place.”

A practitioner of magick since 1976, Ian Edwards was the Pagan Chaplain to Kingston Prison until November 2005. A qualified and experienced complimentary health practitioner in the fields of bodywork (massage and reflexology), hypnotherapy, and counselling (member of the BACP) in private practice. He is also a third degree black belt in Bujinkan Ninjutsu awarded to him by the Grandmaster of the system when he lived in Japan from 1989 to 1990.

Featuring Australian Photographer and Author Thomas Palfy’s Recent Book Releases:

Across Australia From East To West by Thomas Palfy

Thomas Palfy’s most recent travel guide-photo essay follows the trend established in his earlier works to create interest in the unique attractions of the fifth continent. Melbourne, Australia, July 11, 2009 – Across Australia from East to West by Thomas Palfy is a set of descriptions of several journeys to all states and territories of Australia, richly illustrated with landscapes, people, flowers, buildings and animals. Palfy, with his notebook and camera in hand, his wife by his side, faithfully recorded his encounters with Australia’s diverse scenery, interesting people, and distinctive wildlife.

Serving as a pictorial guide, Across Australia from East to West takes readers on a tour across the length and breadth of the country. Starting the journey in his home state, Victoria, the author then ventures out to the rest of Eastern Australia, followed by visits to the centre and the West. He shares his experiences in words and spectacular images with the would-be-traveller and armchair traveller.

As a follow-up to Palfy’s other travel-photo books, such as The West of the West, The Hub of Australia and Beyond and Australia Illustrated: The Eastern States, this new work could be just the amount of inspiration needed for readers to plan a trip to this unique and extraordinarily beautiful part of the world. Palfy is also the author of Definitely Digital! (a recently published guide to digital photography).

The reader will follow the author to the various National Parks and Nature Walks through the lens of his ever-present camera. About The Author:

Over the years Thomas Palfy along with his wife and travelling companion, Susan has visited numerous attractions of the fifth continent. Out of these rich experiences the books Australian Adventures and Images of Australia were created. These two works describe and illustrate visits to the main cities as well as many national parks with their weird and wonderful landscapes, unusual plants, fascinating animals and encounters with people. The West of the West is a travelogue of a trip to the West Coast and the Kimberley region of Western Australia with many colour illustrations. The Hub of Australia and Beyond is a similar account of tours in South Australia and the Northern Territory. Australia Illustrated: The Eastern States completes the trilogy of descriptions and illustrations of tours to the states and territories of the fifth continent. Definitely Digital! is a concise guide to digital photography. Across Australia from East to West is Palfy’s most comprehensive work presenting many of Australia’s incomparable tourist attractions in words and pictures. The author was diagnosed with lung cancer early in 2010. After an operation, several stays in hospital and months of chemotherapy treatment Palfy was back in the Grampians late in October taking photos of wildflowers, mountain ranges and other tourist attractions of the National Park. This was soon after completing his treatment sessions, but not before relating his experiences in the hospital in the book The funny side of lung cancer. The work with its provocative title aims at inspiring people to take an optimistic attitude no matter what situation they have to face in life. In the Postcards from… series of books Palfy describes and illustrates several tourist attractions of Australia, the Grampians mountain ranges, Melbourne and the South Gippsland region of Victoria.

Postcards From The Grampians  by Thomas Palfy

The Grampians, one of the most spectacular mountain ranges in Australia is presented here through a series of photographs by Thomas Palfy. The region is very popular with tourists, particularly in the springtime, when many varieties of wildflowers can be found here. The author and his wife have visited the area many times over the years, walked through its forests, climbed its mountains and visited its waterfalls. It is therefore not surprising that the first book of the Postcard from… series is featuring the Grampians National Park. The photographs presented in this volume have been taken during the 2009 and 2010 trips to this exquisite part of Victoria.
